Is Sarabande your only venue?

No, our group also runs Ovation in Westtown and Greenhouse Loft in Logan Square.

What is your seated and standing maximum guest count?

The main space is around 10,000sf and can comfortably hold 250 seated or 350 standing.

How long is the rental period?

You have access at 12 noon and once your event starts, you can host up to a 7 hour soirée on Saturdays and Sundays and up to six hours Monday-Thursday. We currently have a hard stop of 12 midnight.

Do you have a preferred list of caterers and vendors?

No. You can hire anyone you’d like, as long as they are properly licensed and insured. We’re happy to suggest some of favorites. We don’t accept commissions of any kind.

Do you have bar packages?

No, we are BYOB. We suggest purchasing from Prestige. They will pick up any excess product after your event and you’ll be refunded for that amount. Alcohol must be served by a licensed and insured group. The majority of Chicago caterers have the appropriate license/insurance.

What is the parking situation like around Sarabande?

There’s a large shared parking lot, with nearly 500 spaces, that empties out on nights and weekends. There’s no additional fee for your guests to use the lot.

A DJ from Style Matters is included in the rental. How does that work?

When your event is approximately two months out, we will start determining who the best fit for your celebration might be. Style Matters is a large, diverse collective of about two dozen artists. You can learn more here: Style Matters DJs

Do you have outdoor space?

Yes. We have a large patio attached to the space designed for cocktail hours. We have additional space along the riverfront that will eventually become a ceremony location. We will announce those plans some time in 2024.

Are you wheelchair/ADA Accessible?

Absolutely.

Do you have a private area for us to get ready?

Yes. We have a green room/wedding party suite right off the main space where you and your friends can relax.

How many tables, chairs, highboys, and couches do you have?

35 8’x34” custom tables, 2 4’ Sweetheart’s tables, 250 black “Decade Chairs” from Bludot, 12 highboys, and 6 couches.

Does the Steinway Model B come with a piano player?

No. Use of the Steinway is included in your rental, a pianist is not. Please inquire and we will give you a few recommendations.

How many restrooms do you have?

There are 6 stalls in the women’s, 3 stalls/3 urinals in the men’s, one unisex, and one private.

Can we include our dog in the ceremony?

Yes, but for the ceremony only.

Can we have a food truck?

Yes. Parking on Roscoe is public but they should be able to find an accessible spot for your guests.

Are bands allowed?

We don’t see them a lot but we do allow them. We’d suggest a max guest count of 200 if you’re planning on having a large band during dancing. Ceremony and cocktail musicians are encouraged.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes.

What are the closest hotels?

The Hotel At Midtown is our favorite.

What’s the lighting situation like?

All of the lighting systems are on dimmers so you can create any kind of environment/ambiance you’d like.

Can we hold a rehearsal the day before our event?

You can book a rehearsal six weeks before your event if your desired date is available. The fee is $250/hr.

What is “candle treatment”?

We will provide various candles around the space on the walls, bar, shelves, coffee tables, and cocktail tables.

Do you host non-wedding events?

Absolutely. From birthdays to mitzvahs, corporate events to brand activations, the space is not only functional, but versatile.

Can we bring in additional decor?

Absolutely. We think you’ll find the space to be stunning as-is, but you are more than welcome to bring in floral and decor.

How do we set up a tour?

Email us at info@sarabandechicago.com. Tours are by appointment only.

How can I hold a date?

Once you have seen the space in person, you can hold any one date you would like for two weeks from the date of your tour. Once the two weeks is up, if your date is being challenged by another group, you have two more dates to give us your decision.

We love it. How do we make it official and book Sarabande?

Drop us a line and let us know you’d like to move forward. We’ll send you a straight forward agreement that you’ll fill out, sign, and send back via email. We take 50% down and the remaining 50% one month before your event.

Are there any additional fees on top of the pricing listed on the website?

No. All fees are included in the fees posted on this website.
